Prelude1200

The Prelude1200 is a special soundcard for the internal clockport of the Amiga1200. It consists of two parts, one digital mainboard and one analog connection terminal.

The digital mainboard

  • Amiga 1200 clockport interface
  • No Zorro slot needed
  • High quality audio chipset CS4231A by Crystal Semiconductor (16 bit)
  • Reliable full duplex operation at little CPU load (2KB FIFO memory)
  • 14 different sampling rates from 5.51 through 11.025, 22.05, 32, 44.1 up to 64(!) kHz
  • ALaw, uLaw, 16Bit, 8Bit, ADPCM hardware support

The analog connection terminal

  • Fits into rear A1200 desktop expansion bay
  • Automatic Amiga audio through: No need to replug cables to play bootloading games because of missing initialisation
  • 1 external stereo output
  • 3 external stereo inputs: LINE, AUX1 and MIC with pre-amplifier
  • 1 internal stereo input for CD-ROM-Audio
Both boards are connected via a single 20-wire ribbon cable so there's no need to route several single audio cables somewhere through your Amiga.
